MIRA Festival

Exploring the intersection of digital art, experimental music and contemporary culture

As part of PlayGround's cultural editorial team, I covered the ninth edition of MIRA, Barcelona's leading festival for digital arts and audiovisual experimentation.

The festival brought together more than 50 activities across audiovisual performances, immersive installations, 360º projections, DJ sets, talks and workshops, under the edition's theme of Destruction ↔ Genesis. My role was to turn this extensive programme into an engaging editorial narrative that captured both the scale of the festival and the experience of moving through its different spaces and performances.

I developed and wrote the full article, combining cultural reporting with a first-person editorial perspective. Rather than simply reviewing the programme, I built a narrative around the most compelling encounters of the festival — from Arca's unexpected performance within Carlos Sáez's Dualismo installation to audiovisual performances by Floating Points, Alessandro Cortini, Clark, Vessel and other artists working at the intersection of sound, technology and visual experimentation.

The piece reflects the editorial approach I developed at PlayGround: making niche cultural subjects accessible and engaging while maintaining a strong point of view, distinctive voice and sensitivity to the communities and scenes being covered.
